‘the oppression the irish faced proves racism against whites is real!’
a) thats xenophobia, not racism. the americans hated us because we were from ireland, not because we were fucking white lol.
b) learn the difference between ‘these people are from a different country, get them out of here’ and ‘these people are of a different race, get them out of here’
c) stop using us as a gotcha against black ppl, you racist shitbags
Pretty sure the Irish Slave Trade was a thing and that racism against the Irish didn’t only start in America, but what do I know?
Certainly not more than a bunch of American-centric teenage brats, I guess.funny thing that “race” is a fucking construct. In most European countries, you don’t use the word race anymore to categorise people, unless you’re not afraid to call yourself a nazi.
The nazis called jewish people a “race”, even though it’s a religion, not a race. Because, well, races inside the human race aren’t a fucking thing. But using OP’s logic, nazis weren’t really racist because they weren’t discriminating against a group of people because of their skin colour.
Racism isn’t based solely on skin colour, xenophobia is a subcategory of racism, so is e.g. antisemitism.
and American constructs aren’t the default.
